SENATOR BOWERS RECOGNIZES KANSAS 4-H AND ITS CITIZENSHIP IN ACTION LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

TOPEKA – Kansas State Senator Elaine Bowers (R-Concordia) honored the Kansas 4-H and its Citizenship in Action leadership conference.  The resolution congratulated the students on the Citizenship in Action Leadership Committee as stellar representatives of the 16,954 young people participating in 4-H clubs throughout the state.

“As a former 4-H member from Ottawa County, I still have fond memories of my 4-H meetings, sewing, and cooking lessons,” said Senator Bowers.  “These young people represent the best in our state and exemplify youth who learn by doing, and lead by example.”

4-H consists of members, ranging in age from 5 to 19 years old, who participate in many diverse activities in every county in the state.  As the largest youth development organization in the nation, 4-H exists to prepare Kansas youth for school, work, and life.  There will be approximately 300 youth in attendance at Kansas 4-H’s Citizenship in Action, a leadership conference where 4-H members will learn about the legislative process.
